NA-1 Online Self-directed Program
No. The NA-1 Online Self-directed Program is broken up into classes, labs and clinicals. The online portion of the program is 53 hours. Students attend labs for 35 hours on campus, and 75 hours in a clinical rotation, a total of 163 hours. The OSBN designed the program so that NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students complete the classroom didactic portion online but come to the campus for the skills labs and attend the clinical portion of the program at a healthcare facility.
The NA-1 Online Self-directed Program is offered throughout the year. The program offers more flexibility and is ideal for students with a busy schedule who are self-motivated, self-disciplined, and able to work independently during the online didactic portion of the program. Students must have a reliable computer or tablet with a microphone and camera, an internet connection, and an email address.
Students will be assigned individual logins to access online program modules and materials during the didactic classroom portion of the program. When NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students log into the virtual classroom, they’ll see section modules containing lessons that cover the NA-1 curriculum. The section modules include information on curriculum topics, videos, quizzes, and practices. Students are provided with consultation and additional clarification by Board-approved faculty within 72 hours of a student’s inquiry.
At registration NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students must select their final exam date and their on-campus lab and clinical schedule. The final exam date must be scheduled in a two-week window prior to the start of labs. NA-1 Online Self-directed program students have a MAXIMUM OF 90 DAYS to complete the online didactic portion of their program and pass their final exam, or they will be dropped from the program, without refund.
When students sign up for the NA-1 Online Self-directed Program, they’ll choose their lab/clinical schedule. Students simply remain with their lab cohort for clinicals. Required clinical clearance documentation for students (including substance abuse screening, AHA BLS CPR training, TB screening, and any required immunization documentation) must be received by the school business office by the first day of labs or the student will be removed from their scheduled clinical rotation and moved to a wait list to go into the clinical setting.
No. Clinicals are not scheduled separately and follow directly after labs. Due to OSBN time constraints for program completion, weekend schedules are not available for NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students to select.
NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students must pay their tuition in full at registration, unless they make a minimum $900.00 tuition down payment and set up a tuition payment plan at registration.
Caregiver Training Institute offers a tuition payment plan for the convenience of students. Sponsored students, and partially sponsored students, are not eligible for a payment plan. To set up a payment plan, NA-1 Online Self-directed students must pay a $45.00 tuition payment plan fee and make the $900.00 minimum tuition down payment at registration and prior to being granted access to online didactic training. The final payment must be received no later than the business day prior to the final exam, or the student will incur an additional $75.00 late payment plan fee and they will not be eligible to take their final exam. Student programs will be placed on hold until they have made their final tuition payment and late payment fee. No student who still owes money will be allowed to take the final written exam until all fees have been paid.
- A FULL REFUND OF TUITION AND FEES PAID will be given if Caregiver Training Institute discontinues a program before a student’s course is completed after the tuition and fees have been paid.
- A FULL REFUND OF TUITION AND FEES PAID, will be given if a NA-1 Online Self-directed program student notifies the school business office in writing at least five (5) business days before they receive access to online didactic training.
- A REFUND OF TUITION AND FEES PAID, MINUS A 10% PROGRAM CANCELLATION FEE, will be given if a NA-1 Online Self-directed program student notifies the school business office in writing three (3) business days before they receive access to online didactic training.
- NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED if:
- a student fails to notify the school of their intention to withdraw from class;
- after a NA-1 Online Self-directed program student receives access to didactic training;
- a student is involuntarily terminated from the program;
- a student fails to meet the program completion requirements; or
- a student fails to meet program attendance requirements.
If NA-1 Online Self-directed Program students fail to complete the 53-hour didactic portion of their program prior to their scheduled final exam date, they will have one (1) opportunity to reschedule their final exam and their lab/clinical schedule at no cost. Subsequently, NA-1 Online Self-directed students will incur a $50.00 rescheduling fee each time they reschedule their program. Students may reschedule their program a maximum of three (3) times.
No. Once an NA-1 Online Self-directed student has started their program, the student may not reschedule their program and switch into another scheduled program for any reason.
